Sheboygan Children's Museum Hosts Tastefully Childish Fundraiser

SHEBOYGAN - Above & Beyond Children's Museum opens its door to host the second annual Tastefully Childish fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 30.

The event format and setting is unlike any other charity event. Guests explore experiential food stations and wine, beer and root beer tasting tables on each floor of the three-story museum.

While guests indulge on mature twists on childhood food favorites and beverage pairings, they'll discover the museum's exhibits, carnival-style nostalgic games and interactive activities.

“It is Above & Beyond Children's Museum's version of a 'A Night at the Museum' for adults,” Lynda Torke, president of the board, said in a press release. “The adults-only event affords the opportunity to open our doors to community members to experience the museum showcasing recent enhancements and current programming offerings. Tastefully Childish is a fundraising event by design that also encourages guests to have fun while raising funds for our imagination-engaging destination for visitors of all ages.”

This year's flavorful event will showcase local food, drink and sweets from: 3 Sheeps Brewing Co., 8th Street Ale Haus, Blackwolf Run Restaurant, The Blind Horse Winery, Kohler Original Recipe Chocolates, Menchies, Nourish, Sargento, Solu Estates Winery & Meadery, Sprecher Restaurant & Pub, Torke Coffee and Vintage Elkhart Lake.

This year, Above & Beyond Children’s Museum has selected Nourish as a non-profit partner for the annual fundraiser. The two organizations are collaborating to integrate wellness and nourishment programming into the museum with an educational and interactive marketplace. The partnership will create themed “Good Food” educational programming to educate the community about wholesome foods and the importance of supporting and interacting with local, sustainable food systems.

As Above & Beyond Children's Museum's annual signature fundraiser, Tastefully Childish works to earn funding to support the operations, programming, enhancements, and expansion of the museum and its offerings to excel as a special place for children and their families where play and education connect through exploration and discovery.

This festive adults-only evening celebration supports the children's museum through ticket sales, sponsorships, raffles and donations.
