Our field trips give students & teachers opportunities beyond the typical school experience by providing a “hands-on” experience and involving our visitors in creative exhibits and activities! Sensory Exploration

Sensory Exploration

Time: 90 minutes

Description: Explore the museum in a sensory safe way! Spend 45 minutes exploring the museum and participate in a 45 minute museum-educator lead program where children learn about sensory needs and tools. This package includes a take-home element created during the hands-on activity and a classroom resource for the teacher to take back to their classroom after the trip.

$7 per student
*Necessary Chaperones are Free

*We require a 5:1 ratio of students to chaperones

Self Guided Option

Self Guided Option

Time: 90 minutes

Description: Explore, learn and enjoy the museum at your own pace! With the supervision of teachers and chaperones students are encouraged to experience all three floors or the museum as they please.

$7 per student

Customized to Classroom Curriculum

Customized to Classroom Curriculum

Time: 90 minutes

Description: We want to customize your experience to further elevate the lessons you are teaching in the classroom! Field-trip groups can explore the museum for 45 minutes and participate in a 45 minute museum-educator lead program based around what their class is currently learning about. Note: this option will require two month's notice before scheduling and communication from the teacher about a general theme for the program to be based around.

Circuit Discovery

Circuit Discovery

Time: 90 minutes

Description: This trip will leave you in SHOCK! Explore all three floors of the museum for 45 minutes and participate in a 45 minute museum-educator lead program where students learn about electrical currents and electricity. Students will experience a hands-on activity building their own closed circuit using Squishy Circuits!

Mead Library and ABCM Collaboration

Mead Library and ABCM Collaboration

Time: 135-150 minutes

Description: Get the BEST of BOTH worlds with this trip package! Spend 90 minutes on a self-guided exploration of the museum or choose a museum-educator lead program option (45 minute museum exploration and 45 minute program) and then walk or bus over to Mead Library to participate in a 45-60 minute story time with a library-educator.

NOTE: Only available on Tuesdays

Time: 90 minutes

Description: Lets get down to Earth! Students will explore the museum for 45 minutes and participate in a 45 minute museum-educator lead program where children learn about environmental friendliness. Children will be able to create paper using recycled and natural material.

Description: Above & Beyond and Christopher Farm & Gardens have developed a collaborative field trip program that gives schools the opportunity to engage their students in educational programs revolving around Wisconsin's natural environment. Students will learn tools for being mindful in their environment and get to practice throughout the museum and Christopher Farm & Gardens.
