Emily Rendall-Araujo – Executive Director
Above & Beyond Children’s Museum announces the appointment of Emily Rendall-Araujo as Executive Director. In her role, Emily will work with a passionate team of associates, board members and volunteers to manage museum fundraising, grant writing, marketing, human resources, operations, and strategic planning. As the Executive Director, she will engage the community to support museum initiatives and build creative educational partnerships in accordance with the museum’s mission.
“Emily is a dynamic individual with an outward desire to make an impact on the community through building relationships and developing inspiring programming, exhibits and events,” said Lynda Torke, Board President of Above & Beyond Children’s Museum. “We are pleased to harness her energy and enthusiasm in support of the children’s museum.”
Emily recently served as the Director of Community Development for The United Way of Sheboygan County where she led the organization’s marketing, communications, fundraising, and stewardship. Emily joined The United Way in December 2013.
Prior to joining The United Way, Emily served as the Alumni and Community Engagement Officer and as Assistant Director of Alumni Relations at Lakeland College. Emily received both a Bachelor of Arts, Business Management and Masters of Business Administration from Lakeland College graduating Magna cum Laude. Community organizations Emily serves include Coastal Young Professionals Network, Young Nonprofit Professionals Network and Early Bird Rotary. She is a native of the area formerly from New Holstein and currently residing in Glenbeulah with her husband and young son. She enjoys singing with Sheboygan Symphony Chorus, home renovation projects, spending time at Camp Anokijig, and volunteering at church.
Krista Nagode – Operations Manager
This job comes closest to the realest role I’ve ever lived in this life- being a mother of two boys! Constantly changing, growing and challenging, I love it. Cultivating an atmosphere that invites the imaginative world of pretend to unfold, with room to explore and adventure using every one of your senses, allowing kids to be kids in the best way they know how- THROUGH PLAY! That is where it’s at. I do the scheduling, purchasing, program development, and operations. But…the best part is being part of a passionate team that believes in the incredible potential and importance of this small little window of life that affects the world way more than we realize—-childhood. Children are our present, and the future.
Tanya Schwinn – Finance Manager
I became the Finance Manager at Above & Beyond Children’s Museum in August. I am also an accountant at Alaark Tooling and Automation, Inc. I was born and raised in Sheboygan. I have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Lakeland College. I am married to my amazing husband and have three beautiful children and a dog. In my free time I like to read, crochet, dabble in photography, bake with my kids and spend quality time with my family.
Stephani Aldag – Marketing & Events Manager
I began working at Above & Beyond Children’s Museum as a Customer Service Specialist in my senior year of high school, out of my interest in working with kids. I would have never predicted that a few years later I’d be the Marketing & Events Manager, allowing me to utilize my talents, make a difference in the community, and work with some of the most amazing people I have ever met. Outside of work, I love spending my time in nature and enjoying the little things in life.
Graham McAllister – Exhibit Designer & Facility Manager
I’m originally from Scarborough on the east coast of northern England. My working background is in art, printing, model design and construction, and web design. I’m able to bring several of my skills to play in the eclectic experience that is working at Above & Beyond.
Jacob Immel- Visitor Services Manager
My name is Jacob Immel, originally from Sheboygan Falls. I moved away to Green Bay for a few years to attend UW Green Bay where I majored in political science and public administration. I was active in student government there and was a teacher assistant and managed a few political campaigns. It was during college after taking a class in nonprofit administration that I decided to change my course of study. After a stint working in Green Bay at an area nonprofit I decided to move back to my home area and here I am at Above and Beyond! I enjoy reading, writing, hiking and kayaking. I also am involved in the local young professionals group and love to work with children and young adults to inspire them to become the next generation of leaders.
Ann Benkowski – Program Assistant
I’ve been working here for 3 years. The staff here is very helpful and kind. I enjoy working outside during the summer programs. In my free time I like to go up North camping with my family and dog Ginger.
Andrew Olenick – Customer Service Specialist
My name is Drew Olenick I’m 20 years old. I have been a customer service specialist here at Above & Beyond for three months, and it has by far been one of the greatest experiences of my entire life! My coworkers and superiors are like family to me. I love seeing the kids’ happy faces as they come roaring through the front door anxious and ready to play. Three months ago had you asked me what I wanted to do with my life I would have answered “no clue”, but this job changed all that now I definitely know what it is I want to do. Some of my hobbies and interests include bike riding, psychology, listening to music, and playing cards. I can’t explain how grateful I am for the opportunity to join this team. The museum is a wonderful facility, and I wouldn’t trade working here or with these people for anything!! Always remember nothing’s impossible and dream it, believe it, and achieve it!!
Terrie Snow – Customer Service Specialist
I grew up in Sheboygan. I work full time at Mini Mart (15 years). Have 4 grand children. Started bringing my grandson to ABCM when he was 15 mo. & became a member soon after that. (He is 9 now & his sister is 7) Became a volunteer about 4 years ago and a staff member about 5 months ago. I love doing crafts with kids and hope to expand the craft opportunities at the museum. My dream is to retire from Minit Mart and have more time to devote to the development of craft programs. I strongly believe that craft foster imagination, creativity, manual dexterity, eye/hand coordination, and yes, even self esteem. because there is no wrong way to be creative. Work like you don’t need the money, Love like you’ve never been hurt, and Dance like nobody is watching.
Isabelle Stengel – Customer Service Specialist
Hi, I’m Isabelle Stengel! I started working at Above and Beyond in August 2017 as a customer service specialist and have enjoyed every minute of it. I love spending time with children, making this the perfect job for me! I am currently a senior at North High School. After high school, I plan to continue my education in college where I hope to major in pre-med. Outside of work and school I am part of multiple clubs, including Student Council, Blue Crew, Christmas Fund Drive and Investment Club. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends, as well as my two dogs. I hope to meet you soon at Above and Beyond Children’s Museum!
Monika Oakley – Housekeeping
Hi, my name is Monika. I am from Berlin, Germany. I started working for Above & Beyond Children’s Museum in 2014. It is a good work environment. We have a great team and I am proud to be a part of it. I have five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The three youngest love to come and play at the museum. They enjoy every minute of it.
